Can we talk about poor Ruby? She goes on a first date with a guy who seems perfectly nice, only to discover he’s the kind of lunatic who hides live ferrets down the front of his pants.
Now, I’m an animal lover (although I tend not to secrete them around my person, especially not while dining out.) I was so curious about ferrets that I looked them up, and I’m excited to share what I’ve learned with you. Here are five interesting facts about these furry little cuties.
The name “ferret” comes from the Latin word for “little thief”, which is exactly what they are.
They were once used to hunt small animals like rabbits and rodents, since their weaselly little bodies are perfect for getting into tight places.
They’re descended from polecats, but are certainly not cats. Like cats, however, they can sleep about 16 hours a day.
They use scent to announce to others and the world, “This is my stuff; don’t touch.” And boy, are they stinky!
If you care for them well, they make great pets, as they are curious, loving, playful and cuddly.
Almost makes me wish I had one!
