What kind of hero are you most partial to? Do you like billionaires, firemen, athletes, geeks? And what about temperament? For me, personally, I have a soft spot for cinnamon roll heroes, those sweet small town, boy-next-door cuties who will pick flowers from the local park on the way over to your house.
But then again, there’s something about the bad boy that gets my pulse quickening. I’ve got a secret thing for them … don’t you?

Dominance is sexy
Yes, we like being in control of our lives, our finances and our destinies, but when a big, buff male turns up and takes charge of the little things, we feel cared for and important in his life.
Confidence is the ultimate sex magnet
Bad boys exude confidence like pheromones, and oh, the scent is sweet. They bring their A-game to everything they do, and make sure you know it.
They throw mixed signals
Do they want us, or don’t they? Part of the thrill is trying to find out!
They literally charm the pants off us
These bad boys, they have silver tongues. They know just what to say and how to say it. Speak to me, baby!
They’re never boring
Maybe they get into a little too much trouble sometimes, but isn’t that better than flopping on the couch gazing at the TV? The extra adrenaline that comes from taking risks if the best aphrodisiac ever! Vroom, vroom!
They free us
Being with a bad boy gives us room to unleash our own inner bad-girl selves. Doesn’t it feel good not to have to bottle up our rebel instincts so as not to offend a guy? Get on with ya bad self, girl!

So as a romance writer, I’m not opposed to writing a streak of wildness into my heroes. Take Reese for instance, in TANTALIZING YOU. He’s a fireman stripper turned high fashion model who can’t resist tearing off his employer, Frankie’s one-of-a-kind designs and tossing them to an audience of screaming women from way up on the catwalk.
Does Frankie enjoy seeing rabid women claw at each other to snatch up her precious handmade jacket? No. But is it sexy? Hell, yeah!
