Going indie is hard and scary. I was spoiled from the start, having my own publisher for 14 out of my 15 novels so far, and that meant I didn’t have to worry about all the nuts and bolts of being published. I just had to write the best book I could, and voila!
Now that I’m self-published, there’s so much to do. I can barely keep track of my own to-do list—or the to-do list I’d have if I had the time to make one. So I’m trying to calm down, take my time, and face each task one by one. From applying for ISBNs to commissioning a logo to getting my books proofread, I need to keep telling myself: take everything dragon by dragon.
